We have an opening for a Cold Storage Forklift Warehouse Operator at our Salt Lake City Terminal. This team member must have a strong background in the food warehouse industry. This role will work place a heavy emphasis on sanitization and cleaning duties that will take place for at least 2 full shifts per week. Also responsible for safe and accurate receipt, storage, cross-dock, and shipment of products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to sit down and stand up forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and a reach. This also involves maintaining accurate records, inspecting goods for damage, and upholding safety and cleanliness standards in the warehouse .

THIS POSITION REQUIRES PREVIOUS FORKLIFT/WAREHOUSE EXPERIENCE.

Job Duties:

-Clean and sanitize the terminal an average of 2 shifts/week.

· Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

· Track freight incoming and outgoing freight with RF scanner.

· Verify proper stacking and staging of freight.

· Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification.

· Move products to various locations within the warehouse/trailers.

· Efficiently stack and safely store the merchandise in the designated areas.

· Perform picking duties and merchandise assembly in an efficient manner.

· Ensure accuracy in product counts, locations, and shipments.

· Ensure accuracy in product labeling.

· Check physical inventory against inbound and outbound manifests.

· Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

· Participate in physical inventory audits, as needed.

· Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, and repacking as directed by management.

· Shrink wrap products to pallets.

· Operate equipment safely and efficiently.

· Report all equipment malfunctions to supervisor.

· Ensure proper temperature zones for frozen, chill, or dry products.

· Pull food items from the cold, frozen, and dry shelves.

· Report shortages, damages and misplacements of product to supervisor.

· Complete proper reports on over, short, and damaged freight on the OS&D log.

· Install protective devices, such as bulkheads, bracing, padding, or strapping.

· Pre-cool and set proper trailer temperatures in accordance with load schematics.

· Comply with OSHA standards.

· Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment required. (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)

Must be at least 18 years old; be able to show proof of eligibility to work in USA, Pass Drug Test, & Physical Abilities Test.

Summary: The Certified Reefer Technician will be responsible for all aspects of refrigeration unit repair to refrigeration units. This candidate must possess a complete understanding of all aspects of Transport Refrigeration systems operation, maintenance, and repair. This will include, but not be limited to basic PM services, engine and power plant service and repair, refrigeration service and repairs electrical system repairs, repairs to the trailer’s structure, suspension, brakes, air systems, and electrical systems. This will only be a part of what may be required of this position. Other duties may be added at shop manager’s discretion.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Possess a 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification.
  • This position requires a Minimum of 3 years experience in reefer repair.
  • Possess or be willing to acquire Certificates in Thermo King and/or Carrier Refrigeration units. Be able to use and understand an electrical multi-meter.
  • Must possess the proper tools to perform daily duties (some shop equipment is available for specialized repairs.)
  • Ability to use and operate a Light Check unit to diagnose trailer electrical and air system problems.
  • Possess basic computer skills to create and make notes in work orders.
  • Ability to work and follow directions in a noisy, fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to follow all company and OSHA safety practices.
