Diversified Transfer and Storage is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Assistant Safety Director/Recruiting Manager role at our headquarters in Billings, Montana. DTS is an industry leader and family owned company with over 33 years of experience in nationwide refrigerated LTL carrier services and warehouse operations. About the Role:
In this dual-role position, your primary focus will be supporting our safety initiatives and overseeing the recruitment/hiring process within the organization. You will lead strategies to attract and retain the best safety-conscious drivers in the industry and assist in developing and implementing safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead recruitment efforts to attract qualified candidates, ensuring a safe, diverse, and talented workforce.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies that enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Monitor and analyze recruitment metrics to optimize our hiring processes.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing to a safety and continuous improvement culture.
- Supporting the Driver Safety Director in implementing safety policies and procedures.
- Conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
- Training drivers on safety protocols, accident prevention, and emergency response.
- Investigating incidents and recommending corrective actions to improve safety.
- Monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local transportation laws.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong trucking background with a comprehensive understanding of FMCSA regulations.
- A Class A commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred.
- Proven experience in trucking, transportation recruiting, or a related field.
- Strong recruiting and retention skills, with a knack for building relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A proactive mindset and a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace.
