Dispatcher – OTR Pickup and Delivery Operations
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Dispatcher/Account Specialist to manage and optimize our OTR (Over-the-Road) pickup and delivery operations based in Billings, Montana. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in dispatching and customer service with exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- OTR Dispatching: Efficiently manage the scheduling and dispatching of reefer trucks for pickups and deliveries within our operational area out of our Billings terminal.
- Collaboration: Coordinate swaps and transfers between terminals in Aurora, CO, Billings, MT, and Salt Lake City, UT.
- Route Management: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize delays, and ensure adherence to temperature requirements.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to provide updates, resolve issues, and handle real-time changes.
- Compliance: Ensure all dispatch operations comply with safety regulations and company standards, particularly regarding the handling of temperature-sensitive goods.
- Issue Resolution: Promptly address and resolve challenges related to delivery schedules, equipment issues, or route disruptions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delivery statuses, and vehicle conditions. Prepare and review necessary reports.
- Analysis: Use KPIs to measure performance and productivity.
- Temperature Monitoring: Monitor temperature logs and equipment to ensure all perishable goods are transported within the required temperature ranges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse teams to streamline loading and unloading processes and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Relationship Building: Build, maintain, and expand stakeholder relationships in the area.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years in dispatching/customer service/account management required.
- Knowledge: General understanding of transportation, safety, and compliance regulations.
- Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with dispatch software and systems is preferred.
- Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate temperature-sensitive shipment records and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree, additional certification, or training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.

Pay: $43,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
